22nd Annual Fraser Valley Acoustic Guitar Festival

I am very excited to announce that the featured artist of the 22nd edition of the Fraser Valley Acoustic Guitar Festival is Piotr Pakhomkin. “Hailed by Classical Guitar Magazine as ‘one of the bright lights of the younger generation of classical musicians, a player of tremendous skill and sensitivity,’ Russian-American guitarist, Piotr Pakhomkin has performed and given masterclasses in Europe, Central America, Canada and the U.S. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies under the guidance of Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory in 2010. As a laureate of multiple international competitions, including first prize at the 2012 Mexican International Guitar Competition "Culiacan", Piotr was also the first guitarist to win the 2016 Respighi Prize for all instrumentalists. Piotr made his debut at Carnegie Hall with the Chamber Orchestra of New York in 2018 and subsequently signed with McDaniel Artist Management.”

Also appearing is the Brazilian guitarist, Vinicius Linhares, who will be performing music of his native country. Finally, I am thrilled and honoured to be performing with one of the most exciting and dynamic string quartets, the Borealis String Quartet.
